‘Al damunt dels nostres cants’ becomes a film
Filming began in the Canary Islands on 13 March on La bandera, the film adaptation of Al damunt dels nostres cants. The film is directed by Martín Cuervo, his third feature after Con quién viajas and Todos lo hacen, and stars Imanol Arias, Aitor Luna, Miquel Fernández and Ana Fernández. The screenplay is by the playwright himself, who has previously worked with Álamo Producciones to bring his stage works to the big screen, including La piel en llamas and Invasión.
The film tells the story of Tomás and his two sons, Jesús and Antonio. Their father invites them to dinner to share important news, but keeps them in suspense throughout the evening. When Jesús discovers that Tomás has hung a huge flag on the terrace, the seemingly anecdotal fact shatters the peace of the evening and the brothers begin a confrontation in which both the family inheritance and their father’s love are at stake.
