The sequel to ‘Smiley’ returns home for Christmas
Smiley, Després de l’amor, the sequel to Smiley, Una història d’amor, returns to Barcelona for a short run in December 2023. First premiered in November 2020, the play had a short run marked by the health restrictions of the COVID epidemic, but was a major success with audiences and critics despite the circumstances.
Aware that many people were left wanting to know how the protagonists of this romantic comedy continue their story eight years after falling in love, the creators of Smiley—writer and director Guillem Clua and original actors Ramon Pujol and Albert Triola—have decided to return to the stage for 16 exclusive performances with no extensions. The play is also a unique opportunity for viewers of the Netflix series who did not see the original theatre production at the time to find out how the story continues.
