‘La golondrina’ surpasses 25 international productions

With the latest productions already premiered and those planned for 2024, La golondrina has now surpassed 25 international productions, becoming Guillem Clua’s most successful play internationally, ahead of the first Smiley.

The latest destination for La golondrina is the ROH Theatre in Larnaca, Cyprus, where the Greek version translated by Maria Chatzemmanouil will premiere, directed by Petros Charalambous and starring Valentina Sophokleous and Evros Vassiliou.

Previously, the Portuguese city of Cascais hosted the premiere of A andorinha at the Academia das Artes de Estoril, renamed the Carlos Avilez Auditorium in honour of the recently deceased director of Teatro Experimental de Cascais. Directed by Cucha Carvalheiro, the production features Luísa Cruz and José Condessa.

These two productions join Vlaštovka, the Czech version presented in Prague in November 2023. Jitka Čvančarová directs and plays one of the two roles, alongside the young Daniel Krejčík. The premiere at Studio DVA Divadlo in the Czech capital became a major event, attended by President Petr Pavel.
